Sarah Orban Salati is the Chief Commercial Officer for National Grid Ventures US, the competitive arm of National Grid. In this role, Sarah oversees commercial growth activities and partnerships for NGV including for conventional generation on Long Island, LNG, and other
clean energy technologies such as batteries. She is leading the expansion of NGV’s bulk transmission business nationally, building on NGV’s successful membership in the New York Transco and other national partnerships. She also is focused on emerging business opportunities driven by the unprecedented load growth across the US. Sarah serves as the co-Executive Sponsor of the NewNet Employee Resource Group, the largest ERG at National Grid.
Previously, Sarah was the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of the New York Power Authority (NYPA). She managed wholesale and retail commercial operations, overseeing $2 billion in annual revenues from NYPA’s power generating assets. Sarah led
NYPA’s grid-scale transmission and storage development and its integrated customer solutions, which included customer-sited distributed energy resources, turnkey energy efficiency projects, and the build-out of EVolve – NYPA’s statewide electric vehicle fast charging network. She was also the Executive Sponsor of the Women in Power Employee Resource Group, the first ERG at NYPA.
From 2005 to 2018, Sarah held various executive positions at the AES Corporation in strategic, commercial, operational, and product innovation roles, including expatriate positions in London, England, the regional HQ for AES’s operations in Europe, CIS, Africa, Middle East and Asia; and in Budapest, Hungary overseeing a portfolio of generation assets. Sarah holds a BA from Yale University and an MA from Johns Hopkins University.
