John Connelly is currently the Engineering Manager at Amgraph Packaging, a privately held company that provides flexible packaging for the food, tobacco and nutraceutical industries.
Following graduation Connelly began his professional career at Boeing designing the passenger doors for the B-767. After graduate school Connelly was a Research Engineer at Harris Graphics working on large commercial and publication presses. After a short stint at Applied Measurement Systems, Inc. where he was involved in modeling towed sonar arrays for the Navy labs Connelly was a Principal Engineer at Magnetic Bearings, Inc. This involved incorporating magnetic bearings into large rotating machinery. Connelly was the lead engineer in an EPRI funded project retrofitting magnetic bearings in a Howden- Sirocco gas recirculation fan and the associated 3,500 HP Reliance electric motor.
Following his time at MBI Connelly spent 16 years with MAN Roland, a German manufacturer of large offset printing presses. During his time at MAN Connelly held positions including Chief Engineer, Manager of North American Project Management and Director of Technical Sales Support.
Connelly has been at Amgraph since 2010. He was the lead on all aspects of the two recently installed 400 kW fuel cells as well as the opening of the company’s new Watertown facility. He is currently heading up a project to add 22,500 square feet of manufacturing and storage space and the addition of an 8 unit offset printing press at the Baltic facility.
Connelly holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the Hartford Graduate Center of RPI.
