For approximately 30 years, Mary Beth Gentleman practiced energy law as a partner at Foley Hoag LLP in Boston. She co-chaired the firm’s Energy and Cleantech practice and was an active member of NECA. Prior to that, she served for six years as the Massachusetts Assistant Secretary of Energy for Policy. She now serves on the Board of Directors of FirstLight Power, one of the largest clean energy companies in the Northeast. She also serves on the Board of E4TheFuture, a foundation that supports innovation and advocacy pertaining to the electrification transition. This year, Mary Beth was appointed by Massachusetts’ Governor Maura Healey to the Commission on Clean Energy Infrastructure Siting and Permitting and led its Siting Practitioner Advisory Group consisting of many of the leading siting and permitting practitioners in Massachusetts. The Commission issued its Recommendations to the Governor on March 29, 2024, with an eye toward the Legislature enacting reforms before July 31, the end of the current session. Learn more here.
